Modelling of a Resonant Charging Circuit for a Solid-State Marx Generator

For the pulsed electric field treatment of plant material on an industrial scale, Marx-type pulse modulators are used as a source. The combination conventional Marx generator design equipped with solid-state switches concept resonant charging via current-compensated chokes enables set-up having only one active semiconductor switch per stage. Thereby, shape is defined by passive components RLC-pulse circuit. In course such circuit, common-mode current through need to be considered. Moreover, especially for its ground connection at centre, induced voltages versus addressed. Therefore, investigation based circuit simulations has been made. showed that decay zero just after process and cause voltage transient terminal power supply, which needs floating ground. order reduce amplitude this transient, effects adding damping resistor have studied. However, may involve increase in components. different influenced on-time switches. paper, simulation results, operation modes without discussed. varied. Selected results verified means measurements.
